Before you store important documents anywhere, you deserve to know how they're protected, who can access them and what happens when circumstances change.
Explore our securityLyff is built to give you a secure place for the documents and information that matter in everyday life.
We believe you should understand how your information is handled, what choices you have and where the boundaries of access sit.
That's why privacy, individual control and clear sharing permissions are central to the way Lyff works.
Lyff isn't designed around one shared folder that everyone in a family can open.
Each person has their own private vault and chooses what, if anything, to share with others.
Keep information Private, share selected items with an active Guardian or Custodian through Share Now, or assign selected items for Release Later. Trusted roles and sharing require a paid plan.
Practical protection, explained in language you can understand.
Your private vault content is encrypted on your device before it's stored. Lyff staff cannot simply open and read it.
Lyff stores encrypted vault information on Australian-hosted infrastructure, giving you clarity about where your documents are kept.
You decide which information stays private and which selected items can be shared with a Guardian or Custodian.
Families work together in different ways. Partners may share household responsibilities. Siblings may help support a parent. Adult children may want to prepare their own information independently.
Complete Duo covers two adults and Complete Circle covers up to four. Each adult has their own private vault, login and permissions. Sharing a subscription or paying for it does not automatically give anyone access to another person’s information.
Partners can appoint each other as Guardians and use Share Now to give access to selected documents. Siblings and other family members can do the same where appropriate.
Relationships and circumstances can change over time. With Lyff, your information doesn't have to become part of a permanently shared family collection.
Sharing something today is different from requesting access following incapacity or passing.
An appointed Guardian or Custodian requests release from their own account inside Lyff. Identity verification, supporting evidence and human review are required. A Guardian’s identity is checked when requesting release, not when they are appointed.
After supporting evidence is accepted, Lyff notifies you by email and SMS and begins a seven-day waiting period. You can sign in to stop an incorrect request. Final human review and approval by a different manager are required before release.
You choose the people or professionals who may access selected items under your permissions. Only items assigned to the approved event are released; Private items are excluded.
Lyff's six-monthly Check-In is a reminder to review your information. Missing a Check-In does not automatically contact your Guardian or release documents.
Trust also means being clear about what a platform does and doesn't do.
Your private vault files are encrypted on your device before upload. Lyff staff cannot decrypt and read them. This zero-knowledge protection applies to your private vault. The separate Care Card Emergency Profile contains the public fields you choose to display and is not zero-knowledge encrypted.
Your account password signs you in; your vault passphrase unlocks your vault. If you forget your passphrase, recovery requires your authenticated account, MFA and your Recovery Key. The Recovery Key cannot open your vault on its own. Keep it somewhere safe, separate from your vault.
Lyff provides options to view and export your information. If your subscription expires, a 90-day grace period allows access for viewing, exporting or renewing your plan.
No. Lyff helps you organise, protect and share information. It does not replace a valid will, power of attorney or professional legal and financial advice.
No. Complete Duo covers two adults and Complete Circle covers up to four. Each adult has a separate private vault. Access to selected documents depends on the permissions you choose, not membership of the plan.
Not automatically. Once your partner is an active Guardian, you can use Share Now to give them access to selected items. Your other documents remain private.
Yes. You can change or revoke sharing permissions within Lyff. This prevents further access through the platform, but cannot recall copies someone has already downloaded.
No. Missing a Check-In does not trigger a release request or automatically notify your Guardian.
Lyff uses Australian-hosted infrastructure for encrypted vault storage. See our Encryption & Storage page for more information.
No technology platform can promise zero risk. Lyff uses security controls designed to reduce risk, including encryption, authentication and controlled access. We believe it's important to be clear about those protections and their limits.
Bring your important documents, dates and wishes together. Choose a paid Lyff plan to add Guardians and Custodians, share selected items and prepare Future Messages.
