Private By Default
Storing something doesn't mean sharing it.
You decide which information stays private and which selected items can be accessed by a Guardian or Custodian.
With a paid Lyff plan, you can share chosen items now or set conditions for release following incapacity or passing, subject to verification and review.
Sharing one item does not give someone access to your entire vault. Private items are excluded from Guardian and Custodian access and from Release Later.

More Than A Place To Store Files

Keep documents and dates together, choose trusted people and prepare for later. Complete covers one adult, Duo two and Circle up to four, each with an independent private vault. Duo and Circle use one billing arrangement; each adult controls their own login and permissions.

Choose who you trust
On paid plans, appoint a Guardian or Custodian and share selected items. Paying for a family plan does not grant access to anyone else’s vault.

Prepare selected items for incapacity or passing, subject to review. Separately, schedule Future Messages for anyone by email on a date you choose.
Keep important originals where required.
Lyff stores the digital copy you upload. Uploading a document does not execute, witness, register, validate or make it legally effective. Keep original documents in the appropriate place where an original is legally or practically required.

What people usually want to know.
Can I store more than documents?
Yes. Lyff can organise documents, personal information, records, memories and other digital content supported by the platform.
Can everything in my vault stay private?
Yes. Items can remain Private and subscriber-only. Sharing is something you choose for individual items.
Can I share just one document?
Yes. On eligible paid plans, you can share selected items with a Guardian or Custodian. Sharing one document does not provide access to your whole vault.
Can I help an ageing parent organise their documents?
Yes. Your parent can have their own private account on a paid plan and appoint you as Guardian. They choose the items to share. Duo and Circle can cover adult family members under one billing arrangement without combining their vaults.
Do I need to upload everything at once?
No. You can organise information over time and update it as your circumstances change. A paid plan gives you access to additional sharing and planning features when needed.
Should I upload original legal documents?
Upload the digital copy you want to keep organised in Lyff. Retain the original separately where an original is legally or practically required.
What's included in the Free plan?
The introductory Free plan includes one private vault with up to five documents and 5MB of storage for 12 months, with optional reminders on those five documents. Guardian and Custodian appointments, Share Now, Release Later and Future Messages require an eligible paid plan.
Can I take a photo of a document on my phone?
Yes. Use Take a photo in the upload form or choose an existing file or photo. Photos are compressed in your browser, with before and after sizes shown and an option to retake. Files are encrypted in your browser before upload.
Can I upload from my phone while using Lyff on desktop?
Yes. Upload from your phone displays a QR code. Scan it and sign in on your phone with your password and MFA, then take a photo and save it. Desktop drag and drop supports one file at a time.
Which reminder options can I choose?
Add an optional expiry, renewal or review date. Reminders 60 and 14 days before it are selected by default. Choose 60, 30, 14 or 7 days before, or a custom date. Repeat annually is available for yearly renewals. After upload, a confirmation shows your reminders. You enter dates yourself; Lyff does not read document contents to find them.
Can I change or turn off reminders?
Use Document details to edit dates and reminders, or turn reminders off. Settings lets you switch all reminders off while keeping saved dates. Reminders cover all documents on paid plans and the five documents on Free. No reminder emails are sent during the grace period. Emails contain no file contents or sensitive details.
